Our mental health course aims to increase your awareness and understanding of mental health conditions as well as reducing the stigma and discrimination that surrounds it.
By the end of the course you will be able to identify signs, symptoms, risk factors and treatments for the most common mental health problems as well as understanding the support and advice available for mental ill health. Our course also contains a Mental Health First Aid qualification to equip you with the knowledge and understanding to carry out mental health first aid and respond appropriately when others are experiencing a crisis.
No entry requirements
Level 2 Certificate in Promoting Community Health and Wellbeing
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. However, you must be aged 16 or over to enrol on this course.
Our course is delivered over two face to face teaching days. You will be provided with a workbook, manuals, an e-learning platform and full tutor support.
Modules covered in this course are:
Unit 1: Mental Health Awareness
• Understanding Mental Health;
• Mental Disorders;
• Understanding Support and Advice Available
Unit 2: Mental Health First Aid
• Recognising and Responding to Mental Illness in Yourself and Others;
• Signposting for Help;
• Escalating Situations;
• Promoting Good Mental Health
Course duration and assessment
This qualification will be delivered over two consecutive days. You will then be assessed following the delivery of the qualification via an online e-assessment. The first module will comprise of an online worksheet to be completed and the second module will comprise of an online case study.
Assessments should be attempted in your own time and only following attendance of the course and completion of your workbook.
